Drogheda Wolves 86 Boyne Warriors 79
The opening quarter of this Men’s clash set the scene with both teams playing basket for basket with just a point separating the sides at the end of first quarter with the Warriors leading by a single point, 21-20.
The second quarter was equally as competitive with the visitors managing to extend their lead to three points at half-time.
The Wolves dug deep and manged to narrow the gap to one point at the end of the third meaning it was still very much all to play for going into the last quarter.
Spectators were on the edge of their seats when with 50 seconds to go the Wolves were up by a point and some serious courage and hard work meant that at the buzzer it was a resounding seven point victory for Drogheda Wolves.
Drogheda Wolves: Sean Donnelly, Kajus Costello (10pts), Sean Bergin, Simon Horkan, Conor Nulty, Donal Opening, Dimitris Theocharis (34pts), Darragh Byrne, Mbongeni (Mo) Sibindi (13pts), Clive Igbewe, Airidas Blazaitis (12pts), Keith Whelan.
